As a lifelong resident of the City of South El Monte, I have made a decision to run as your governing school board member for Valle Lindo School District. My commitment to do so is inspired by my passion for childcare and education. Childcare has been a passion of mine since my oldest was born in 1993. My history in childhood education began when I pursued an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development and became employed by the City of South El Monte as an Early Head Start Teacher in 1998. Thereafter, I continued my endeavors in education as an employee of the El Monte Union High School District for 13 years. Today, I have continued to advocate and care for children through my home-based Tovar-Rubio Family Daycare.
I believe that children are the future! When we teach them well, they will lead the way.
I believe strongly that every child matters, every student matters, everyone's story matters.
